Your purchase does more than bring a handcrafted treasure into your home — a portion of every sale supports the Jerri Savuto Girls Rescue Center in Kenya, where young girls are rescued from harmful situations like child marriage and given the tools, training, and hope to create a better life for themselves.
In the summer 2025 I went to Kenya to visit the elephant I adoped through Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Rescue and Rehabilitation. Her name is Lakita and is 6 years old now. She graduated from the nursery and is now with her herd. She comes back each evening for her bottle feeding. Many of the adult elephants there still come back to visit the center and show off their own ofspring to their former caretakers. I adopted Lakita 4 years ago and really enjoy the monthly updates I get on her. If you are interested in adopting your own elephant, please go to https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/
In the summer of 2026, I will be returning to Kenya to teach the girls at the rescue center how to sew clothing — a practical skill that can open the door to financial independence. For those who choose to pursue it, sewing has the potential to become a small business and a meaningful path to self-sufficiency.

I met Masai Tribe members and they dressed me up. I also visited Rothschild Giraffe Center to learn about giraffes.
